Music Professor, Band Conductor Interviewed by WQED

NEW WILMINGTON, PA – Dr. R. Tad Greig, professor of music at ¾¨Ó㴫ý and conductor of the North Pittsburgh Symphonic Band, was recently interviewed by Pittsburgh public radio station WQED-FM regarding the band’s performance at the Bach, Beethoven and Brunch concert in Mellon Park in June.

Greig, who also serves as ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s director of bands and head of music education, spoke about conducting for an outdoor event like Bach, Beethoven and Brunch.  He began his tenure at ¾¨Ó㴫ý in 1993 and also conducts ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s wind ensemble, symphonic band and the Titan Marching Band.

The North Pittsburgh Symphonic Band is a full symphonic band with about 75 members. Greig has served as its musical director and conductor since 2016.
