Our programs will equip you to work in all sorts of fields in all sorts of places. While most people think 鈥渨here would I use a degree in a language?鈥 that is probably the wrong question. A better question is 鈥渨hich employers are looking for people who communicate effectively, understand the complexity of cultures and the world, and are ready for adventure?鈥 It turns out that those skills are exactly what employers want!
Our graduates are in demand because they have learned to communicate clearly in speech and writing while also understanding the importance of culture and cultural differences. Many of our students go on to teach, primarily at the high school level, some in college. Others have taken jobs in Spain, Costa Rica, France, and Per煤; have worked for organizations ranging from airlines to the Peace Corps; and have taught English in places such as France, Spain, and South Korea. Whatever your career path, you will be incredibly well-prepared to work in a global economy.
Additionally, all 鲸鱼传媒 students take a language course at the 201 level to fulfill the foreign language intellectual perspective (FL IP) component of the 鲸鱼传媒 Plan. To meet this requirement, you can learn a new language or continue a language you studied in high school. (See our placement guideline to determine which course may be an appropriate point of entry.)
At 鲸鱼传媒, learning isn鈥檛 limited to the classroom. In each of our 50+ majors and pre-professional programs, your education will be enhanced by the purposeful combination of expert classroom instruction and hands-on learning opportunities. Internships, undergraduate research and studying abroad are just a few of the real experiences our students get that lead to real success after graduation.
Teachers, researchers, experts, mentors...our faculty members are all these things and more to their students. They trained at universities around the globe, but they chose to teach and conduct research at 鲸鱼传媒 because of the focus on student development and success. Their dedication to mentoring and teaching is evident in our students鈥 success when it comes to graduation rates, post-graduation employment and graduate and professional school acceptance.
