About the Program

¾¨Ó㴫ý’s Early College (EC) is a dual enrollment program designed for academically prepared high school students. Early College Scholars have the opportunity to earn up to a full year of college credits before they finish high school.

Contact the Admissions Office at 724-946-7100 or admissions@westminster.edu if you have any questions about the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Early College program.

How It Works

High school students apply for admission to ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s Early College program, usually during their sophomore year. If accepted into the program, EC Scholars can take up to two ¾¨Ó㴫ý courses each summer before their junior year and before their senior year. Spring and Fall courses are completed in-person (on-campus). Summer courses are completed online.

EC Scholars may also take face-to-face ¾¨Ó㴫ý courses during the school year if their school districts and schedules allow. By the time EC Scholars graduate from high school, they could complete up to 8 ¾¨Ó㴫ý courses (32 credits). That’s the equivalent of one full year of college for a fraction of the cost!

Early College Advantage

  • Save thousands of dollars in college tuition.
  • Choose from nearly 100 real college courses, taught by ¾¨Ó㴫ý professors.
  • Credits earned will transfer to other colleges and universities.

A Free Year of College!

The Early College is a gateway to becoming a full- time ¾¨Ó㴫ý student. Successful participation makes admission to the college very likely.

Additionally, EC Scholars who enroll at ¾¨Ó㴫ý immediately after high school are eligible for a refund of up to 32 earned credits of their Early College tuition through a special tuition discount.
