¾¨Ó㴫ý kicks off its Diversity Symposium with a day of events commemorating The Rev. Martin Luther King, Jr. Tuesday, Feb. 13.

Dr. Russell E. Martin, associate professor of history at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, spent time this summer deciding which schools received grant funds from the Department of Education's Teaching American History Grants Program.

Six ¾¨Ó㴫ý mathematic majors recently presented a colloquium about their summer internship experiences. They are: Bryan Bischof, Colin Campbell, Michele Fenske, Courtney Gilmore, Daniel Orrison, and Allie Rook.
¾¨Ó㴫ý continues the "Get Real" life preparation series with "Wheels & Deals" Thursday, April 19, at 12:35 p.m. in the McKelvey Campus Center Club Room.

Dr. R. Tad Greig, ¾¨Ó㴫ý director of bands and assistant professor of music, will be guest conductor for the annual District Five Honors Band at Mercer High School.
The Sept. 24 Neil Sedaka concert at ¾¨Ó㴫ý has been postponed due to illness. All tickets will be honored for his Nov. 21 concert.

Dr. SoYoung Kang, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of education, gave an oral presentation and a poster at the Association for Childhood Education International (ACEI) conference March 18-21 in Chicago.

David Newell, better known to millions as "Mr. McFeely," will present "Mr. Rogers' Legacy: Being a Caring Neighbor to Children and Families" at the Wayne H. Christy Memorial Lecture at ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Vespers service Sunday, Feb. 28, at 7 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The service is free and open to the public.


Dr. Russell Martin, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor of history, is guest editor of the journal Russian History's Festschrift (professional tribute) to Dr. Orysia Karapinka, Martin's undergraduate professor and adviser.
Over 400 ¾¨Ó㴫ý students earned Dean's List recognition for the 2011 spring semester.
