Dr. Cary W. Horvath, assistant professor of communication studies at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, recently presented two papers at the 87th Annual National Communication Association Convention.
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Peace Studies Program has organized a panel discussion and presentations on the Middle East crisis Wednesday, Nov. 15, at 4 p.m. in Walton-Mayne Union lounge.
Members of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Forensics/Detective Class recently solved the "campus murder" of Dr. Richard Sprow, professor of English and chair of the fictional "Faculty Misconduct Committee."
"This is the first time for this cluster class, a mixture of Detective Fiction English 107 and Forensic Science 150," said Dr. Deborah Mitchell, assistant professor of English and Public Relations at ¾¨Ó㴫ý. "In addition to writing a creative story about the crime scene, the students had to use the elements of science to gather evidence."
Two ¾¨Ó㴫ý students were elected to fill vacancies as senators in the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Student Government Association (SGA).

Dr. Elizabeth Harrison, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of music, recently taught master's classes and gave a concert in North Carolina.
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning awarded an undergraduate research grant to Christopher Stone, a senior individual interdisciplinary and philosophy major, to present his research at the Midsouth Undergraduate Philosophy conference Feb. 22-23 at the University of Memphis, Tenn.

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Department of Chemistry will host alumna Dr. Kim Dunbar for the inaugural Ken and Nancy Long Chemistry Lecture Thursday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Michelle Johnston, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior biology major, received a travel/presentation grant from ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning to present her honors research at the 30th annual Undergraduate Biology Symposium for Western Pennsylvania April 18 at Waynesburg University.
Dr. Ann Murphy, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of French and Spanish, will share information about the Center for International Educational Exchange (CIEE) faculty development seminar at Faires Faculty Forum Wednesday, March 31, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater of the McKelvey Campus Center.

Dr. R. Tad Greig, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor and director of bands, will be the guest conductor for the Beaver County High School Honors Band Nov. 17-18.
