13th annual Long Lecture to feature Case Western Reserve chemist

Dr. Blanton Tolbert, chemistry professor at Case Western Reserve University, will provide the 13th annual Ken and Nancy Long Chemistry Lecture at 7 p.m. Friday, Nov. 6, via Zoom.

Tolbert’s lecture, “RNA Viruses: A Chemist’s Approach to Discovering Antiviral Targets,” will discuss his latest research to understand the molecular mechanisms RNA viruses use to express their genomes.

Presented by ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry, the lecture series is funded by Dr. Ken Long, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor of chemistry emeritus, and his wife, Nancy, to invite chemists to speak with students on campus.
