¾¨Ó㴫ý will livestream a series of virtual vocal concerts this weekend. There will be no live audience due to campus COVID-19 protocols, but the concert can be viewed on the .
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Women’s Chorus will perform their concert, “Sisters in Song,” at 6:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20, followed by the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Men’s Chorus’ concert, “Brothers in Song,” at 8:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 20.
The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Chamber Singers will present “Ba-rock ‘n’ Jazz” at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 22. The full ¾¨Ó㴫ý Concert Choir will perform their concert, “All the World’s a Stage,” at 5:30 p.m., Sunday, Nov. 22.
All choral groups are under the direction of Dr. Andrew Withington, director of choral activities and associate professor of music.
Withington, who joined the ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty in 2019, holds a B.M. and Ph.D. in choral pedagogy from the University of Canterbury, New Zealand, and a master’s in choral conducting from the University of Auckland. He is a trained elementary school teacher and has been a lecturer at the University of Canterbury School of Music and College of Education and was a teacher educator at the New Zealand Graduate School of Education. As artistic director of the internationally acclaimed New Zealand Secondary Students’ Choir, he conducted concerts in Canada, China, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Singapore and South Africa.
