Two ¾¨Ó㴫ý students were awarded the prestigious McQuiston Outstanding Service Award at the College’s 2023 Spring Honors Convocation held April 19.
Ian Sullivan, a junior biochemistry major from Hermitage, Pa., and Breannda Davis, a junior finance major from Streetsboro, Ohio, were each awarded $11,500 for their unselfish service to the ¾¨Ó㴫ý community during their college careers.
The funds will be used to offset their tuition for the 2023-2024 academic year.
After three years on campus, students can apply for the McQuiston Outstanding Service Award and describe their involvement, leadership and service experiences at ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
Sullivan has extensively volunteered on and off campus, specifically with his academic department, honor societies, campus ministry, 
mission trips and local food pantries.
Davis is a leader in ¾¨Ó㴫ý athletics and the Black Student Union, championing inclusive experiences for students of color.
The awards, endowed by W. James McQuiston ’29 and Mrs. McQuiston, were established in 1979 and are given annually to a rising senior man and woman in honor and in memory of seven members of the McQuiston family with ¾¨Ó㴫ý ties: the Rev. J.A.C. McQuiston, College trustee from 1913-1917, and first business manager from 1917-1920; Mrs. J.A.C. McQuiston, acting dean of Hillside Dormitory from 1917-1918; Daniel H. McQuiston, class of 1915, director of athletics from 1922-1923; Helene McQuiston (Mrs. D.H.), music faculty from 1922-1924; Charles M. McQuiston, class of 1916; Minnie Belle McQuiston Ege, class of 1918, dean of women from 1921-1922; and Mary E. McQuiston ’69.
