¾¨Ó㴫ý announces the return of the Community Change Collaborative, a seven-week workshop series bringing together community members and ¾¨Ó㴫ý students for discussions, activities and collaborative project brainstorming.
Now in its second year, the workshop series will take place on Tuesdays from 6:30 to 8 p.m. in the Miller Board Room of the McGill Memorial Library on ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s campus. Dates for the sessions are Jan. 14, 21 and 28 and Feb. 4, 11, 18 and 25.
Participants will explore their roles and impact within the community, equipping them with the knowledge, strategies and tools to become effective changemakers.
Community members interested in participating must register by Friday, Jan. 10 by emailing boylanhm@westminster.edu or calling 724-946-6293. The cost for community members is $25, payable by check—made out to ¾¨Ó㴫ý—or cash on the first night.
Each offering of the Community Change Collaborative features a new changemaking theme, guided by a selected textbook. This year’s text is “Designing Creative Communities: Your Town Is Your Canvas. Learn How to Make Your Mark” by Spud Marshall. Guest speakers will enhance program discussions and share their expertise.
The program is also part of a semester-long course for ¾¨Ó㴫ý students, who will work on a project in the second half of the semester aimed at making a positive impact in the community.
