High school orchestras and individual high school string players are invited to attend a day of fun, motivating, string-centric activities led by the ¾¨Ó㴫ý string faculty from 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m. on Saturday, Nov.15.
There will be various events led by ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty such as instrumental-specific choirs and combined string orchestra, a recital and a chance to perform with members of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý string community.
The recital will feature distinguished faculty including Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, professor of music and U.S. National Scottish Fiddling Champion, on violin and viola; adjunct instructor Michael Gelfand on cello and adjunct instructor Justin Bendel on bass.
The day will include numerous opportunities to learn from ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty about string music.
Music will be sent out prior to the event. Lunch and an ice cream social are included, followed by a concert for families at 5 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.
