Symphony Orchestra presents fall concert Nov. 21

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Symphony Orchestra, under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, will present its fall concert, “Across the Eras,” at 7:30 p.m. Friday, Nov. 21, in Will W. Orr Auditorium on the ¾¨Ó㴫ý campus. 

This year’s program highlights works that span musical traditions and time periods, showcasing the orchestra’s versatility and artistry. The concert will also feature the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Concert Choir, directed by Dr. Ryan Keeling, assistant professor of music and director of choral activities.

A special highlight of the evening is the premiere performance of “Largs,” composed by Crawford Perttu who will perform a solo on the Scottish fiddle.

Other program selections for the evening include Schubert’s Symphony No. 8 “Unfinished”; Saint-Saëns’ “Marche Militaire Française” from Suite Algérienne; and Mussorgsky/Ravel’s “The Great Gate of Kiev” from “Pictures at an Exhibition.”

The performance is free and open to the public.
