Lindsay Byers, ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior music education major, will present her capstone recital Saturday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.
Byers' program includes: "Music for Awhile" by Henry Purcell; "Beau soir" by Claude Debussy; "Les Fantoches" from Fetes gallants; "Del Cabello" by Fernando Obradors; "Kaddisch" by Maurice Ravel; "Er, de Herrlichste von Allen," No. 2 by Robert Schumann; "Una Voce Poco Fa" by Gioacchino Rossini; "Must the Winter Come So Soon?" by Samuel Barber; "South of France: A Nun's Life" by Richard Pearson Thomas; "The Metropolitan Tower" by Lori Laitman; and "A Sleepin' Bee" by Harold Arlen.
Byers is a daughter of David and Rosemarie Byers, Clarence, N.Y., and a graduate of Clarence Central High School. She has studied voice with Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of music, for three years and with Robert Vehar of Snyder, N.Y., for two years. During her time at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, she has appeared in many opera roles including Hansel in Hansel and Gretel, and sings alto in concert choir and chamber singers. Byers is a member of Pennsylvania Collegiate Music Educators Association and the ¾¨Ó㴫ý chapter of the American Choral Directors Association.
