Michael Mullin, a senior Christian education and music major, will present his senior percussion capstone recital Saturday, March 8, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The event is free and open to the public.
Mullin, a graduate of North Allegheny High School, is a son of John and Patricia Mullin of Wexford. He is a member of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Jazz Ensemble and the worship band at Seekers, a Christian fellowship of worship, music, and discussion.
Mullin is from the Percussion Studio of Perry Gatch, ¾¨Ó㴫ý percussion instructor.
The recital includes pieces by contemporary percussion composers performed on timpani, snare drum, drum set, multi-percussion, and marimba. Selections include "March," a timpani solo by Elliott Carter, and "Technica 9," a snare drum solo by Guy Gauthreaux II. Clarinetist Nadia Buzzelli, a 2006 ¾¨Ó㴫ý alumna, will be featured on "Rhythm Suite," a clarinet-marimba duet by Jeffrey Agrell.
