The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will present "Stars I Shall Find" Sunday, Nov. 23, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of music, the Chamber Singers are accompanied by Amanda Gentzel, and Christopher Granger accompanies the Concert Choir.
The Concert Choir's program includes: "Sicut Cervus" by Giovanni Pierluigi de Palestrina; "Magnificat K. 193" by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, featuring sopranos Karen Biddle and Sonia Firster, tenors James Cochran and Joel Montgomery, and basses Ian Turner and Andrew McMurray; "There will be rest" by Frank Ticheli from the Sara Teasdale poem; and the spiritual "By and By" arranged by Carol Barnett.
The Chamber Singers include: "I am the Rose of Sharon" by William Billings; "The Turtle Dove" by Ralph Vaughan Williams, featuring soprano soloist Ashley Cesaratto; and Jack Halloran's arrangement of the Stephen Foster standard "Nelly Bly."
Five seniors will be guest conductors on several selections: Claudia Brown, Cesaratto, Firster, Montgomery Service, and Stephanie Witzorreck.
Lind, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2000, earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho, a master's from the University of Oregon, and Ph.D. from the University of Utah.
