Dr. Shahroukh Mistry, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of biology, attended the 38th annual symposium of the North American Society for Bat Research Oct. 22-25 in Scranton.
He co-organized a special session on wind power and bats, and was elected to the board of directors, where he will serve as secretary for the coming year.
Mistry, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2003, earned undergraduate and master's degrees in zoology from Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda, India; a master's in animal behavior from the University of Tennessee; and his Ph.D. in ecology from the University of New Mexico. His research interests focus on issues related to bats, climate change, and conservation biology. He is on the scientific advisory board of Bat Conservation International and is a member of the IUCN Chiroptera Specialist Group.
