Ten ¾¨Ó㴫ý students and three faculty/staff participated in ¾¨Ó㴫ý Cares Day April 18.
The event, part of Global Youth Service Day, was coordinated by Jeff Ledebur, Americorps*Volunteer in Service to America (VISTA) in ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
¾¨Ó㴫ý volunteers partnered with Lawrence County Community Action Partnership to clean apartments, paint rooms and hallways, sort canned food, and complete yard work at the Crisis Shelter of Lawrence County in New Castle.
"¾¨Ó㴫ý Cares Day was a great start to what we hope will be an annual day of service and volunteering in Lawrence County," said Dr. Terri Lenox, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of computer science and co-director of the Drinko Center.
In addition to Ledebur and Lenox, the students were accompanied by Dr. Patrick Krantz, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of education and co-director of the Drinko Center, and Chuck Woratschek, Lenox's husband.
