Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý will present Lillian Hellman's The Children's Hour May 6-9 in Beeghly Theater.
Curtain time Thursday-Saturday is 7:30 p.m., and Sunday's matinee is at 2:30 p.m. Reservations can be made online by following the "ticket reserve" link at or by calling the Box Office at (724) 946-7241. Prices for general admission adults are $7, and senior citizens and non-¾¨Ó㴫ý students are $5.
Once banned in Boston for its controversial story, The Children's Hour is based on a true story about the power of a lie. When a young girl is disciplined at boarding school, she accuses the headmistress and a female teacher of an inappropriate relationship. When the lie is believed, lives are destroyed.
The play is under the direction of John Gresh, adjunct faculty in ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Department of Communication Studies, Theatre and Art.
Gianni Downs, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of theatre, is the set designer.
Paula Ferguson, ¾¨Ó㴫ý stage manager, is the technical director.
