¾¨Ó㴫ý will host a Martin Luther King Jr. Community Remembrance and Celebration Breakfast Tuesday, Jan. 18, at 8 a.m. in the Witherspoon Rooms of the McKelvey Campus Center.
Guest speaker will be Judge George "Tookie" James, a 1959 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and judge in the Court of Common Pleas in Beaver County.
¾¨Ó㴫ý students participating include:
Senior media art major Karli Champ will give the blessing. She is a daughter of Rebecca Hultin and David Champ of Panama, N.Y., and a graduate of Maple Grove High School.
Sophomore psychology major JaQuan Madison will share "What Martin Luther King Jr. Means to Me."Â He is a son of Patricia Madison of Youngstown, Ohio, and a graduate of East High School.
Senior communication studies major Candace Okello will read an excerpt from Dr. King's "I Have a Dream" speech. She is a daughter of Serafhin and Janice Okello of Youngstown, Ohio, and a graduate of Chaney High School.
Music will be provided by the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Gospel Choir under the direction of Manny Henderson.
The Rev. James Mohr, ¾¨Ó㴫ý chaplain, and the Rev. Jeannette Hubbard, ¾¨Ó㴫ý director of diversity services, will take part in the event.
The community is invited to attend at a cost of $5 per person, payable at the door. Reservations are required and may be made by calling (724) 946-7116 or (724) 946-7365.
