Opera ¾¨Ó㴫ý will present The Merry Widow Friday, Oct. 28, at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The program is free and open to the public.
Franz Lehar's operetta will be sung in English by ¾¨Ó㴫ý students, faculty, and guest artists.
¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty in the production include: Dr. Beverly Cushman, associate professor of religion and Christian education, cast as Clo Clo; Dr. Larry Miller, associate professor of chemistry, cast as Viscomte Cascada; and Dr. Peter Smith, associate professor of chemistry, cast as Njegus.Â
The event is coordinated by stage director Dr. Anne Hagan Bentz, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of music, and orchestra conductor Mihai Vilcu, ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty. ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty Marie Libal-Smith is pianist and an orchestra of ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty, students, and guest musicians will provide instrumental support.
