The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Department of Chemistry will host Dr. Kasey Kovalcik for the ninth annual Ken and Nancy Long Chemistry Lecture at 7 p.m. Nov. 10, in the Lakeview Room located in McKelvey Campus Center. The event is free and open to the public.
Kovalcik’s lecture is titled, “Analytical Challenges of Measuring Public Exposure Through Multimedia: Air, Water, Plants.”
During his lecture, Kovalcik will present the sampling and analysis challenges in doing exposure studies involving wildfire smoke, near-road sources, nano-materials, and epiphytic moss.
Kovalcik is an Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) chemist with a background in academia, methods development in a clinical lab, and almost 10 years of research experience at EPA.
The lecture series is funded by Dr. Ken Long, ¾¨Ó㴫ý emeritus professor of chemistry, and his wife, Nancy, to invite chemists to speak with students on campus.
