NEW WILMINGTON, PA – ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate Inga Laurent will discuss “From Retribution to Restoration: Implementing Nationwide Restorative Justice Initiatives” from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 18, in the Mueller Theater of McKelvey Campus Center at ¾¨Ó㴫ý.
Laurent, associate professor and director of the Externship Program at Gonzaga University School of Law, spent nine months in Kingston, Jamaica, as a Fulbright Scholar studying restorative justice initiatives. Laurent lived and researched life in Kingston, as the Ministry of Justice attempted to transform the country and its legal system through a restorative justice agenda.
Laurent is engaged in advocating for criminal justice and legal education reform, and believes we need innovative and equitable models to better address the shifting needs present in our evolving societies.
She earned her bachelor’s degree in political science from ¾¨Ó㴫ý in 2002 and her juris doctorate from Cleveland-Marshall College of Law.
