¾¨Ó㴫ý Symphony Orchestra to present Christmas Pops! concert

NEW WILMINGTON, PA – The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Symphony Orchestra will present its annual Christmas Pops! concert at 3 p.m., Sunday, Dec. 2, at in Orr Auditorium.

Under the direction of Dr. Melinda Crawford Perttu, associate professor of music, the orchestra’s selections will include: “White Christmas” by Berlin/Bennett; “Sleigh Ride” by Anderson; “March of the Toys” from “Babes in Toyland” by Herbert; Mannheim Steamroller’s arrangement of “Stille Nacht” by Gruber/Custer; Trans-Siberian Orchestra’s arrangement of O’Neill’s “Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24”; “Hannukah Festival Overture” by Custer; “Rhapsody on Christmas Carols” by Smith; and “It’s Christmastime” by Custer.

Students in the orchestra will be joined by community musicians as well as ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty and staff members Dr. Robert Knop, associate professor of physics, on viola; Scott Wignall, registrar, and Justin Bendel, music adjunct, on bass; and Heather Johnson, music adjunct, on French horn.

The concert is free and open to the public.
