NEW WILMINGTON, PA – ¾¨Ó㴫ý President Dr. Kathy Brittain Richardson announced today that two-time Emmy Award-winning producer Tim Kaiser will receive an honorary Doctor of Letters degree at the college’s 165th commencement ceremony on Saturday, May 11.
Kaiser’s work on the long-running popular NBC sitcoms “Seinfeld” and “Will & Grace” earned him two Emmys, as well as 10 Emmy nominations. Kaiser, 1985 alumnus of ¾¨Ó㴫ý, also executive produced “2 Broke Girls” and the current reboot of “Will & Grace.”
“We are proud to recognize Mr. Kaiser’s creative vision and talent by awarding this honorary degree,” Richardson said. “He has represented ¾¨Ó㴫ý well through his years of award-winning work and his life of integrity and leadership. He continues to serve as an eloquent proponent of the value of a liberal arts education.”
Following his graduation from ¾¨Ó㴫ý, Kaiser, a native of Oakmont, Pa., worked in public television. The public television format was a familiar format to Kaiser; his father, Lloyd Kaiser, was longtime president of the Pittsburgh public broadcasting station WQED.
Kaiser currently divides his time between Pittsburgh and Los Angeles.
¾¨Ó㴫ý’s spring commencement exercises will be held at 1 p.m. on the Weisel Senior Terrace outside of Old Main. A 10 a.m. baccalaureate service will be held in the Will W. Orr Auditorium.
