About the Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program
The Grow PA Scholarship Grant Program is a Pennsylvania state grant administered by the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency (PHEAA). The program is designed to encourage students to earn degrees in high-demand fields and remain in Pennsylvania after graduation to help address workforce shortages.
Eligibility
To qualify, a student must:
- Be a Pennsylvania resident.
- Complete the FAFSA form for the appropriate academic year.
- Be enrolled at least half-time in an eligible associate or bachelor's degree program at an approved Pennsylvania institution.
- Be pursuing an approved major that leads to an in-demand occupation.
- Meet Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) for federal financial aid.
- Not already have earned a bachelor's degree.
- Sign a Master Promissory Note (MPN) agreeing to repay the grant if the work requirement is not met.

Award Amount
Up to $5,000 per academic year.
Available for up to four academic years, depending on eligibility and available funding.
Work Requirement
After graduation, recipients must:
- Live and work in Pennsylvania.
- Be employed in an eligible in-demand occupation.
- Work for the same number of years they received the grant (up to four years).
If a student does not complete their degree or fulfill the Pennsylvania employment commitment, the grant converts to a repayment obligation under the terms of the Master Promissory Note.
