From radio host in small town USA to protocol officer for the US federal government, Maddie credits the ample opportunities to get involved in ¾¨Ó㴫ý activities as the foundation for her professional curiosity, determination, and work ethic.

Former Pittsburgh Steelers’ starting center Justin Hartwig will kick off this year’s ¾¨Ó㴫ý’s Come to the Wall worship series as guest speaker at 7:30 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, in the Wallace Memorial Chapel on the College’s campus.

¾¨Ó㴫ý welcomed four new faculty members to the campus community for the 2024-2025 academic year. Joining the College in the School of Education are Dr. Emily Mazzant and Kristen Czubiak, while the School of Music added Aaron Himes and JaKobe Henry to its teaching and conducting roster.

¾¨Ó㴫ý has been selected as one of 16 Appalachian colleges and universities to participate in the Appalachian Collegiate Research Initiative (ACRI) this fall. With a grant from the Appalachian Regional Commission (ARC), ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will conduct a feasibility study for the development of a shop featuring Amish goods and works by local artists and artisans.

¾¨Ó㴫ý remains a top leader among colleges in the country that are committed to improving students’ ability to move up the economic ladder, according to U.S. News & World Report’s 2025 Best Colleges rankings released today. In the guide, ¾¨Ó㴫ý earned a No. 22 spot in the “Top Performers on Social Mobility” list while climbing four spots to the No. 108 overall ranking in the publication’s National Liberal Arts Colleges category.
