Keith Corso, instructor of speech communication at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will present "Lifestyle Changes to Help Build Effective Communication in Marriage," at the Youngstown Diocese Ministry Convocation Saturday, Oct. 22, at 11:40 a.m. in the Kent State University Student Center.
"I've been involved in mentoring engaged couples prior to their marriage for the past three years and have organized a number of weekend retreats as well as held individual couple sessions along with my wife," Corso said. "The purpose of this presentation is to advance the idea that marital communication can be significantly enhanced by certain lifestyles. Instead of informing people on what to say and how to say something, the information I will share is designed to assist in deepening the marital relationship so communication can improve."
Corso, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2004, earned his undergraduate degree from ¾¨Ó㴫ý and his master's from the University of Akron.

¾¨Ó㴫ý will host an old-fashioned Independence Day celebration with a free concert and fireworks Monday, July 3, at 7:30 p.m. at Brittain Lake.

Dr. James A. Cummins, professor of Spanish at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will present "Spain Prepares for the Twenty-First Century: Progress Since 1975" during the Faculty Forum, Wednesday, Oct. 10, at 11:45 a.m. in 311 Patterson Hall.
¾¨Ó㴫ý is helping area educators learn lessons outside of the classroom through the Lawrence County "School to Work" Program.

With sadness I announce the passing of Eloise Reid Orr. Eloise was the wife of Will W. Orr, who served as the ninth president of ¾¨Ó㴫ý from 1949-67.
The annual ¾¨Ó㴫ý Christmas Vesper service will take place Sunday, Dec. 10, at 7 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The event is open to the public.




¾¨Ó㴫ý recently added four new full-time faculty members.

Dr. R. Tad Greig, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of music and director of bands, will present at a session of the Connecticut Music Educators state conference April 4 in Hartford.
Mallory Lichwa, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior biochemistry major, received an undergraduate research grant from ¾¨Ó㴫ý's Drinko Center for Excellence in Teaching and Learning.
¾¨Ó㴫ý awarded undergraduate degrees to 10 students at the completion of the summer term.
