Nation's Second Oldest Film at ¾¨Ó㴫ý

The International Film Festival continues at ¾¨Ó㴫ý with Richard III Tuesday, April 20, at 7 p.m. in the McKelvey Center Theater.

This 1912 silent film with a score by Marconi, was only the second feature film made in the United States and was recently discovered in a private collection in mint condition.Ìý

"I wrangled this copy from the American Film Institute," said Dr. Deborah Mitchell, assistant professor of English and public relations and coordinator of the series.Ìý "This is an excellent adaptation of Shakespeare's play, and stars the great Frederick Warde as Richard, Duke of Gloucester."

¾¨Ó㴫ý Hosts FBLA Competition

More than 300 students from seven area schools will compete in the 2005 Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) Regional Competition at ¾¨Ó㴫ý Tuesday, Feb. 25.

Schools competing include Commodore Perry, Laurel, Lawrence County Vo-Tech, Neshannock, Mohawk, West Middlesex, and Wilmington.Ìý

 "¾¨Ó㴫ý, the Economics and Business Department, and the Students in Free Enterprise (SIFE) are thrilled to host this competition," said Tom Rosengarth, chair of the Department of Economics and Business.Ìý "We want to thank the participating schools for choosing ¾¨Ó㴫ý as their competition home for the last five years."

 ¾¨Ó㴫ý SIFE members will act as judges for events such as Emerging Business Issues, Impromptu Speaking, Job Interview, Mr. and Ms. Future Business Leader, and Public Speaking I and II.
