Dr. Darwin Huey, chair of the Department of Education and director of the Graduate Program at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, has been awarded the Counselor of the Year Award by the Chi Sigma Iota Counseling Academic and Professional Honor Society International.
"This award is granted each year to a graduate of the program who consistently exemplifies the finest qualities of a professional counselor," said Dr. William Evans, associate professor of education and adviser for the group.
Huey, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 1977, is also an associate professor of education. He earned his undergraduate and master's degrees from ¾¨Ó㴫ý, and his Ed.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
¾¨Ó㴫ý offers the Counselor Education Master's Degree Program which prepares professionals to become certified as a school counselor in Pennsylvania and licensed as a school counselor in Ohio.
