¾¨Ó㴫ý enjoyed its most successful fundraising year in history with gifts totaling nearly $10.6 million. The amount shattered the old record by almost $5 million.

The $10,566,074 in restricted and unrestricted giving from July 1, 2000 - June 30, 2001 surpassed the previous best of $5.7 million in the 1999-00 fiscal year.

Nearly 42% of ¾¨Ó㴫ý alumni donated to the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Fund, the annual commitment to excellence. Gifts to the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Fund supplement scholarships and financial aid, student programming, library resources, faculty development, and assist in the daily operations of ¾¨Ó㴫ý.

¾¨Ó㴫ý reported 100% involvement from its Board of Trustees for the fifth straight year, and also had 33% of parents of current ¾¨Ó㴫ý students contribute gifts to the College.

"Perhaps the most impressive statistic of all is that 68% of the Class of 2001 contributed to the Senior Class Gift," said President R. Thomas Williamson. "The generosity of our trustees, alumni, friends, foundations, faculty, staff, parents and students is simply amazing. ¾¨Ó㴫ý is moving forward because of them."

Hardhats have become commonplace on campus as a number of construction projects are moving forward.

Thompson-Clark Hall, built in 1893, underwent a $3 million renovation to maintain its 19th-century charm on the exterior, but feature state-of-the-art facilities on the inside. It reopened in January.

¾¨Ó㴫ý broke ground on a $13.5 million Campus Center in May. The Campus Center project should be completed by January 2003.

Construction on the James F. Edwards Wing at Memorial Field House, featuring expanded locker and team rooms, will be completed this fall, along with a new all-weather track and field complex made possible by a $500,000 grant from The Hoyt Foundation of New Castle.
