Dr. Carolyn Cuff, a 1978 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and associate professor of mathematics at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, was chosen Distinguished Faculty Mentor of Undergraduate Mathematics Students by Allegheny Mountain section of the Mathematical Association of America (MAA).
The criteria for this prestigious award is a significant contribution to the development of undergraduate students in mathematics as scholars. The contribution is demonstrated by encouraging student participation in MAA activities, and mentoring students who make presentation in the section meetings.
Cuff, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 1989, is also chair of the environmental science committee. She earned her undergraduate degree from ¾¨Ó㴫ý, and her masters and Ph.D. from Case Western Reserve University.
