¾¨Ó㴫ý Students to Perform One-Act Operas in Butler

Six ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will perform two comic one-act operas Friday, April 6, in the Convocation Center at Butler County Community College following the 6:30 p.m. dinner.

The two operas, The Telephone by Gian-Carol Menotti and Bastien and Bastienne by Wofgang Amadeus Mozart, will be performed in English, and directed by Donald J. Rasely from the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Music Department.

The cast for The Telephone includes Donna Macurdy, a sophomore music education major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Macurdy, 214 Hannashtown Rd., Cabot, as Lucy; Jeff Lagios, a sophomore music education major and son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lagios, 113 Gettysburg Dr., Aliquippa, as Ben; and Stan Rothrock II, a senior music education major and son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rothrock, 203 Forest Hill Rd., Yeagertown, as accompanist.

The cast of Bastien and Bastienne includes Nora Drake, a senior music performance major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Drake, 48 N. Wood St., Greenville, as Bastienne; Rachel Helgeson, a senior music and theatre major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. John Helgeson, 200 Park Ave., Apollo, as Bastien; and Brian Barrett, a sophomore music major and so of Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Barrett, 601 Chestnut St., Meadville, as Colas. Matthew McCright, a 1999 music major graduate of ¾¨Ó㴫ý who resides at 65 St. Glory Rd., Greenville, will accompany this performance.
