Dr. Albert Borroni, a member of the Neuroscience Department of Oberlin College, will speak at ¾¨Ó㴫ý Tuesday, March 27, at 7 p.m. in room 166 of the Hoyt Science Resources Center.

Borroni's talk, "The Learning Channel: Investigations into the Formation of Memory," will describe his recently published research on the pharmacological manipulation of memory, and the role Oberlin undergraduates play in neuroscience research.

Dr. Alan G. Gittis, professor of psychology at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, and his undergraduate students have also presented research on a new memory drug, AIT-082. It is being developed to treat Alzheimer's disease, as well a stroke, spinal injury and nerve damage. Their research demonstrates the drug's ability to counteract memory impairments.

The event sponsored by the Departments of Biology and Psychology at ¾¨Ó㴫ý is free and open to the public. For more information, contact Gittis at (724) 946-7358 or e-mail gittisa@westminster.edu.
