Three ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will perform the on-stage, one act-opera, The Telephone, Saturday, Feb. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in Orr Auditorium.

Gian-Carlo Menotti's opera centers around Ben, who wants to propose to his girlfriend, Lucy, but is constantly interrupted by her telephone. Since he has to catch a train for an important business meeting, he leaves Lucy's apartment. Later he calls her from his cell phone and succeeds in proposing to Lucy.

The performance features Donna Macurdy, a music education major and daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Macurdy, 214 Hannashtown Rd., Cabot, as Lucy; Jeff Lagios, a music education major and son of Mr. and Mrs. Nicholas Lagios, 113 Gettysburg Dr., Aliquippa, as Ben; and Stan Rothrock II, a music education major and son of Mr. and Mrs. Stanley Rothrock, 203 Forest Hill Rd., Yeagertown, as accompanist.

The workshop is directed by Donald J. Rasely from the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Department of Music. Rasely resides in Butler.
