Mike Yaconelli, owner of Youth Specialties, will speak at ¾¨Ó㴫ý Thursday, Dec. 5, at 7 p.m in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Youth Specialties is an international organization that trains and provides resources for over 100,000 youth workers, founded by Yaconelli and Wayne Rice in 1968.

Yaconelli's ideas often promote untraditional Christianity. He believes that many churches have more to do with the American Dream than Christianity. "Look at the fitness centers in churches," said Yaconelli. "What are we telling kids who are overweight or ugly and don't live up to this odd Greek idea of beauty?"

The event is free and open to the public. For more information, contact the Rev. Steve Allen, ¾¨Ó㴫ý college chaplain, at (724) 946-7116 or e-mail allensm@westminster.edu.
