Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý will present the musical-comedy Crazy for You, Wednesday-Saturday, Nov. 13-16, at 7:30 p.m., and Sunday, Nov. 17, at 2:30 p.m. in Beeghly Theater.
This "girl meets boy" tale takes place in the Wild West, and is filled with Gershwin music and Ken Ludwig's hilarious dialogue. The curtain opens in at a New York theater, where the last performance of the Zangler Follies has just finished, but quickly moves to a run down theater in Deadrock, Nev. that is destined to close for lack of funds. It is in this town that a love triangle blooms, and cast of characters, which include rowdy cowboys, Follies dancers, and two British travelers, converge for this musical comedy production.
Eileen Hendrickson, visiting instructor of theater at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, directs this production. Dr. Robin Lind and Dr. Anne Bentz , both assistant professors of music at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, direct the vocals in the play. Gina Sharbaugh, assistant director of admissions and dance instructor at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, directs the dance portion of the play, while R. Tad Greig, director of bands at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, directs the pit orchestra. John Scott, technical director of Beeghly Theater, is also lighting designer.
For tickets to the play, call the Beeghly Box Office at (724) 946-7241 Wednesday-Friday, Nov. 6-8, from 2-4 p.m.
