The ¾¨Ó㴫ý sophomore honor society, Lambda Sigma, has received recognition as an "Honor Chapter" from the National Executive Board.
"Under the direction of Neal Edman and Kang-Yup Na, two of our finest advisors, the chapter received our highest recognition our organization gives," writes Jane Price Harmon, national president of the Lambda Sigma Society.
"Considering how busy our members are in many areas of academic and campus life, I'm impressed with their commitment to good causes and proud of their service to ¾¨Ó㴫ý and surrounding communities," said Dr. Na, assistant professor of religion. "I'm proud to be their faculty advisor."
"Not all chapters get the honor despite having fulfilled their listed material requirements," said Dr. Edman, dean of students at ¾¨Ó㴫ý. "Much of it depends on the members going the extra mile."
Lambda Sigma is an honor society with the purpose of fostering leadership, scholarship, fellowship and the spirit of service among the men and women of the sophomore class. Membership requirements include at least 3.0 quality point average, and previous ¾¨Ó㴫ý leadership experience.
