The competition includes teams of three or four students from all nine ECC colleges: Bethany, Heidelberg, Hiram, Marietta, Mount Union, Muskingum, Otterbein, West Virginia Wesleyan, and ¾¨Ó㴫ý. ¾¨Ó㴫ý took first place last year.
The day will begin with registration and a light breakfast at 9:30 a.m. and the competition runs from 10 a.m. - 1 p.m., followed by a pizza lunch. The exam is written and graded at Concordia College of Minnesota specifically for this contest. The test consists of 10 problems ranging from a problem or two that nearly everyone will probably solve, to a couple which are of Putnam level and are likely to separate out the most exceptional students.
Prizes include $50 for each first place team member, $30 for each second place team member, and $20 for each third place team member.

 Alan Higby, a senior computer science and mathematics major, is a son Douglas and Linda Higby, 626 Walnut St., Meadville, and a graduate of Meadville Area High School.
 Joseph Katich, a senior physics major, is a son of Ronald and Kathleen Katich, 153Terrace Dr., New Castle, and a graduate of Mohawk Area High School.
 Bradley Patton, a junior computer science and mathematics major, is of Thomas and Karen Patton, 232 Patton Lane, Edinburg, and a graduate of Mohawk Area High School.
