¾¨Ó㴫ý will host a "Passport to Opportunity" program sponsored by the Pennsylvania Institute of Certified Public Accountants Wednesday, March 26, from 10:30 a.m.-2 p.m. in Russell Dining Hall.

High school students from Neshannock and Wilmington will join about 50 ¾¨Ó㴫ý students to hear presentations from Gary Dalessandro, certified public accountant and certified financial planner at Jazwinski Financial Services, and Scott McDowell, chief financial officer at Blair Strip Steel.  High school students will first meet with the ¾¨Ó㴫ý students for a tour of campus and lunch.

"The speakers will lead a workshop to acquaint high school students with the profession of accounting," said Julie Caldwell, a senior international business major and student coordinator of the event from Hickory.  "¾¨Ó㴫ý accounting majors will try to answer high school students' questions, and this workshop may help ¾¨Ó㴫ý students network."

For more information, contact Tom Rosengarth, associate professor of accounting and chair of the Department of Economics and Business at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, at (724) 946-7169 or e-mail rosengte@westminster.edu.

Each educator attending the program will receive one teacher version kit, which includes special information that needs to be relayed to participating class teams.  Teachers will also receive one student version kit for each student who attends.
