¾¨Ó㴫ý Student Awarded Scholarship to Study Abroad

Christina Contes, a senior elementary education and Spanish major at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, was recently awarded the Academic Year Ambassadorial Scholarship by the Pittsburgh Rotary.

"I will be studying Spanish at la Universidad de Sevilla," said Contes.  "This scholarship provides an equivalent of $25,000 for round-trip transportation, tuition, fees, room and board, and some educational supplies.  I was nominated by my sponsor, William Hall of Lower Burrell, and was one of only eight winners."

Christina Contes is a daughter of Michael and Judi Contes, 1100 Woodmont Ave., New Kensington, and a graduate of Valley High School.  While at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, Contes served as academics chair for the Student Government Association, a member of the Student Alumni Association, a member of a national sorority, a member of Habitat for Humanity, a member of the international education society of Kappa Delta Pi, and the honor society of Omicron Delta Kappa.
