Shafer's presentation, "Object-Oriented Programming" examines the basic principles of object-oriented programming and gives some examples.
"Object-oriented programming has played a dominant role in industry innovation in software design and construction," said Shaffer. "In addition to examining the basic principles, I will also address the significance of object-oriented programming in the programming industry and in computer science education."
Shafer, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2000, earned his undergraduate degree from Stevens Institute of Technology, and his Ph.D. from the University of Pittsburgh.
