Dr. Gary Lilly, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of sociology, will present "The Independent Monitoring for Quality Project: Serendipity Strikes Again" at Faculty Forum Wednesday, Jan. 31, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.
"IM4Q, or Independent Monitoring for Quality, is made up of teams who interview people with developmental disabilities and their care givers to find out if they are receiving the services they need," Lilly said. "The teams are composed of students, family members, and the disabled. My team has been interviewing around 80 people in Mercer County for the past four years."
Faculty Forum, established in 1990, serves as a venue for the exchange of ideas and information among ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty. Speakers present their research, teaching ideas, lectures, performances, special programs, and uses of technology to keep faculty informed about the work of colleagues from many disciplines.
Lilly, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 1977, is also the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Director of Institutional Research and Head Cross Country Coach. He earned his undergraduate degree from ¾¨Ó㴫ý and his master's and Ph.D. from Kent State University.
The event is free and open to the public. Contact Lilly at (724) 946-7250 or e-mail glilly@westminster.edu for more information.
