¾¨Ó㴫ý was well represented at the Joint Mathematics meetings in New Orleans.
"¾¨Ó㴫ý was well represented at the governing meeting of this national organization," said Dr. Barbara Faires, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor of mathematics. "There were 5,200 attending this meeting, the largest convention in New Orleans since Katrina."
Attending the meeting were: Dr. John Bonomo, associate professor of computer science; Dr. Carolyn Kidder Cuff, a 1978 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate, professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science; Faires, who presented the final report of the Revenue Strategic Planning Group which she chaired; Dr. Judith Price Palagallo, a 1969 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and professor emerita, Department of Theoretical and Applied Mathematics at the University of Akron; Dr. David Carothers, a 1975 ¾¨Ó㴫ý graduate and professor and chair of the Department of Mathematics and Statistics at James Madison University; and Dr. Pamela Richardson, ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of mathematics and a member of the National Project NExT group that provides faculty development for new faculty.
Faires, Carothers, and Palagallo are members of the 58-person Mathematics Association of America Board of Governors.
