The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Saxophone Quintet will have a studio recital Sunday, March 18, at 3 p.m. at Wallace Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
The program includes: "Allegro" and "Vivace" by Bernhard Heiden, which will be played by Kevin Shields, a sophomore music education major from Eldred, and Dr. Nancy DeSalvo, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý assistant professor of music. Heiden's "Diversion" will be played by Steve Sankey, a freshman English major from Cedar Rapids, IA, and Sheila Barnhart, a junior music performance major from New Freeport. "Sonata," by Paul Creston, will be played by Amanda Allwang, a junior music education major from Huntington, MD, and Kathy Miller, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty member. The last song, "The Immovable Do" by Perry Grainger, is performed by the entire quintet, which includes Jim Flowers, ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty member.
