Senior to Give Voice Recital

Laura Swanson, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior English and music major, will perform her capstone mezzo soprano recital on Sunday, April 15, at 1 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel.

Swanson, a daughter of George and Sherry Swanson from Garretsville, Ohio, is a graduate of Cardinal High School. While at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, she has participated in the opera Hansel and Gretel and has been involved with Chapel Drama and Alpha Psi Omega's One Act Festivals. Swanson is a member of Amnesty International, Kappa Delta Sorority, and is currently the public relations chair for Scrawl, ¾¨Ó㴫ý's literary and arts student magazine.

Swanson's program includes: Georges Bizet's Chanson d'Avril; Isabella Colbran's Povero cor tu palipiti; Vincenzo Bellini's Per pieta beli dol mio; Clara Weick Schumann's Liebst du um Schonheit; Edvard Grieg's Ich liebe dich; Adam Guettel's The Allure of Silence; and Jason Robert Brown's "You Don't Know this Man" from Parade; and "Stars and the Moon" from Songs for a New World. She will be accompanied on piano by Kathryn D. Miller, adjunct music professor.
