Junior Music Major to Perform Vocal Recital

Jill Darby, a junior music performance major at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, will present her vocal recital Monday, April 23, at 8 p.m. in Orr Auditorium 

Darby's program includes Claudio Monteverdi's "Sento un Certo non so che" from the opera L'incoronatione di Poppea; Franz Schubert's "Der Mussensohn;" Robert Schumann's "Der Nussbaum" from the Myrthen Op. 25, No. 3; Ludwig Van Beethoven's "Ich Liebe Dich;" Reynaldo Hahn's "L'heure exquise;" Claude Debussy's "Beau Soir;" Lucy Simon's "How Could I Ever Know" from the musical Secret Garden; Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Pie Jesu;" and John Duke's "When I Set Out for Lyonesse."

Darby, a daughter of John and Joni Darby of Hermitage, is a soprano currently studying voice under the instruction of µþ¾±±ô±ôÌý´¡³¾²ú±ð°ù³Ù.  During her time at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, Darby has been a member of the women's chorus and women's ensemble. She is currently a member of the ¾¨Ó㴫ý Chamber Singers and Concert Choir, where she serves as secretary.

Darby is active in her community as well, performing at many local church and public events. She was a member of the Shenango Valley Chorale for three years. Darby is a graduate of homeschooling.
