The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Orchestra will present "A Holiday Celebration!" Sunday, Dec. 2, at 3 p.m. in Orr Auditorium. The concert is free and open to the public.
Under the direction of Jonathan Moser, ¾¨Ó㴫ý director of orchestras and instructor of music, the program includes many holiday favorites: "Angels We Have Heard on High," "Hallelujah Chorus" from Messiah, and "Joy to the World" by Handel; Victor Herbert's "March of the Toys" from Babes in Toyland; Lowden's arrangement of Mel Torme's "Christmas Song," also known as "Chestnuts Roasting on an Open Fire;" and Anderson's "Sleigh Ride."
In addition to students in the orchestra, several ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty members will be participating: Dr. Patricia Clark, assistant professor of history, on cello; Dr. David Cushman, chair of the Department of Economics and Business, on oboe; and Mary Moser, adjunct music faculty, on violin.
Jonathan Moser, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2005, earned an undergraduate degree from Shenandoah University and a master's from Arizona State University.
