Nearly 100 ¾¨Ó㴫ý students will be in the choir to sing the Verdi "Requiem" with the Warren (Ohio) Philharmonic Orchestra Friday, April 25, at 8 p.m. in Stambaugh Auditorium in Youngstown, Ohio.
The students will be joined by ¾¨Ó㴫ý faculty: Kris Harper, ¾¨Ó㴫ý women's chorus director; Dr. Bethany Hicok, associate professor of English; Dr. Fritz Horn, professor of English emeritus; Julia Levin, adjunct faculty in religion, history, philosophy and classics; Dr. Robin Lind, associate professor of music and director of choral activities; and Dr. Katherine Robertson, assistant professor of biology.
New Wilmington community members Diana Borowski, Beverly and George DeRobertis, Sally Grittie, Monica Krantz, Karen Latta, Pam and Jim Maloney, and Chuck Wiley will also be in the choir.
The "powerful, dramatic, and intense" work, conducted by Susan Davenny Wyner, will be performed in memory of famed tenor Luciano Pavarotti. In addition to the local vocalists, the concert will include over 250 musicians; four soloists; the Seraphim Chorus, under the direction of Harper; and the Stambaugh Chorus.
