Chamber Singers and Concert Choir to Present Spring Concert

The ¾¨Ó㴫ý Chamber Singers and Concert Choir will present "Let's All Sing for Spring" Sunday, April 27, at 3 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The concert is free and open to the public.

Under the direction of Dr. Robin Lind, ¾¨Ó㴫ý associate professor of music, the Chamber Singers are accompanied by Christopher Granger and Craig Dressler accompanies the Concert Choir. Sheila Barnhart is pianist for the Verdi "Requiem." Twelve graduating seniors will be recognized at the concert.

The Concert Choir's program includes selections from the Verdi "Requiem," featuring Melissa Barnes, Stephanie Witzorreck, William McCullough, and David Timm. Their closing numbers will be "Nearer, My God, to Thee" by Lowell Mason, arranged by René Clausen; and Ale Brider (All Brothers), an Eastern European folksong arranged by Joshua Jacobson.

The Chamber Singers' program includes sacred and secular works: Lobt Gott mit Schall (Praise God with Sound) by Heinrich Schütz; "All Flesh is Grass" by Chris Massa with words by Christina Rossetti; Zigeunerleben (Gypsy Life) by Robert Schumann, featuring soloists Ashley Cesaratto, Jill Darby, Floyd Dierker, and Ian Turner; and "Smile" by Charlie Chaplin, arranged by Steve Zegree.

Lind, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2000, earned her undergraduate degree from the College of Idaho, a master's from the University of Oregon, and Ph.D. from the University of Utah.
