Evann Garrison, ¾¨Ó㴫ý lecturer of English, will present "Another Kind of Research: Scrawling" at Faires Faculty Forum on Wednesday, April 23, at 11:40 a.m. in the Sebastian Mueller Theater in the McKelvey Campus Center.
¾¨Ó㴫ý's literary publication, Scrawl, has offered generations of students the opportunity to see their creative writing and art in print. Some of this year's Scrawl contributors will read selections of their work and talk about the writing process, both academic and personal, and the campus writers' community.
Faculty Forum was established in 1990 by Dr. Barbara Faires, ¾¨Ó㴫ý professor of mathematics, during her term as Dean of the College and Vice President for Academic Affairs. Faculty members from all disciplines volunteer to present lectures on their current research, artistic productions, and/or scholarship of teaching and learning. Each forum presents new ideas with innovative lecture techniques.
Garrison, who has been with ¾¨Ó㴫ý since 2003, earned an undergraduate degree from ¾¨Ó㴫ý, a master's from Duke University, and a master of fine arts from Goddard College.
