William McCullough, a ¾¨Ó㴫ý senior music performance major, will present his senior capstone recital Sunday, May 4, at 1:30 p.m. in Wallace Memorial Chapel. The event is free and open to the public.
McCullough's tenor program includes Duparc's L'invitation au voyage; Debussy's Beau Soir; Barber's O Boundless, Boundless Evening; Strauss' Morgen; and features Robert Schumann's song cycle Dictherliebe.
McCullough, who studied with William Ambert, ¾¨Ó㴫ý adjunct music faculty, will be accompanied by Kathryn Miller, ¾¨Ó㴫ý organist.
McCullough was the winner of ¾¨Ó㴫ý's first concerto and aria competition his freshman year, and winner of the National Association of Teachers of Singing Tri-State regional his sophomore year.
His Opera ¾¨Ó㴫ý performances included the roles of Zuniga in Carmen, Gabriel von Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus, and Barinkay in Der Zigeunerbaron, and he portrayed Nicely-Nicely Johnson in Theatre ¾¨Ó㴫ý's production of Guys and Dolls.
While at ¾¨Ó㴫ý, McCullough was a member of the Men's Chorus, Concert Choir, Chamber Singers, Symphonic Band, and Titan Marching Band, and a member of Alpha Phi Omega national service fraternity.
McCullough is a chorister at First Presbyterian Church and Cathedral of St. Columba in Youngstown, Ohio.
McCullough will attend the Peabody Conservatory of Johns Hopkins University to pursue a master's in vocal performance.
McCullough is a son of William and Suzanne McCullough of DuBois and a graduate of DuBois Area High School.
